Holocaust Presentation for Sophomores

Posted Date: 05/19/26 (02:10 PM)

Today, our sophomore students had the profound honor of hearing from Susan Unrad, whose parents survived the Holocaust. As part of their social studies curriculum, students listened intently as Susan shared her mother's experience surviving Auschwitz and her father's harrowing journey through Siberia.

What made this presentation truly special was the thoughtful engagement from our students. They asked meaningful questions that demonstrated their genuine interest in understanding her family's story and the lessons it holds for us today.

Susan closed with an important message that resonated throughout the auditorium: be an upstander. She challenged our students to stand against hate, to refuse to let prejudice take root, and to recognize the equal worth and dignity of every person, regardless of religion, gender, race, or any other characteristic.

These are the conversations and connections that help our young people become informed, compassionate citizens. We are so thankful to Susan for sharing her family's legacy of survival.
