On September 24, Masuk High School's Psychology students embarked on an enriching field trip to Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) as part of their Dual Enrollment partnership. The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to delve into the world of psychology through various hands-on experiences.
During their tour, Mr. Young and Mrs. Bartosik’s students explored psychology labs, gaining insights into current animal research and observing the spaces where research on reading intervention for children occurs. They also participated in a comprehensive campus tour, enjoying lunch in the university’s dining hall.
The highlight of the day was attending an upper-level psychology class on Motivation, taught by Dr. Christopher Budnick. Students actively engaged in an interactive activity that examined the principles of motivation by successfully flying paper airplanes. This immersive experience not only enhanced their understanding of psychological concepts but also inspired their future academic pursuits.
Overall, the trip was a valuable experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for the field of psychology and the possibilities that lie ahead for these panthers.
