Grillin' for Grads

As the school year began, Masuk High School welcomed its seniors with the annual Grillin’ for the Grads event, a cherished tradition that marks the start of their final year. Organized by the Masuk Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) and led by Adrienne Stepkoski, the event brought the community together to celebrate the seniors in style.
The atmosphere was lively as Principal Steve Swensen and Assistant Principals Ian Lowell and Lisa Peterson took charge of the grill, serving up freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs to the eager students. The excitement didn’t stop there as local businesses generously donated prizes, which were raffled off throughout the event.
Assistant Principal Ian Lowell expressed his enthusiasm about the day's festivities, stating, "The PTC, led by Adrienne Stepkoski and current and former members, put together a fantastic feast to kick off the new school year for our seniors. We are excited that this is just the beginning of what will be a great year."
Senior Riya Pooskur echoed this sentiment, sharing her excitement: "This was just a great start to senior year. We won McDonald's gift cards, and we are excited for all the Senior festivities to start…and the food was really good!"
Adding to the festive atmosphere was World Language Teacher and DJ Joel Castillo, who played popular tunes, creating a vibrant ambiance as students enjoyed their meals and the company of their classmates.
The Grillin’ for the Grads event not only served delicious food but also fostered a sense of community and school spirit among students. As the seniors embark on this important year, the Masuk community looks forward to many more exciting events and celebrations ahead. This kickoff was a perfect reminder of the support and camaraderie that define the Masuk experience.
