Students at 8th Grade Open House

December 4th, 2024 — Masuk High School opened its doors to eager 8th-grade students and their families for a special open house event. From 6:30 to 8:00 PM, the campus buzzed with excitement as students from Jockey Hollow Main Campus and STEM got a sneak peek into their future at Masuk.

Guided by current Masuk High School students, the 8th graders embarked on a comprehensive tour that showcased the vibrant academic and extracurricular opportunities available. Each group visited various departments to get a firsthand look at the courses they will be taking as freshmen next year. The tour also highlighted the array of electives students can choose from, sparking interest and curiosity among the young attendees.

In addition to the academic insights, students were treated to a taste of the school's culinary delights. The event also shone a spotlight on Masuk’s many business clubs, providing students a glimpse into the exciting extracurricular activities that promote leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

A highlight for many was the chance to capture a memory with the school’s beloved Panther mascot, a symbol of school spirit and pride. This playful interaction was a favorite among the future Panthers, adding a personal touch to their visit.

The evening also included informative sessions led by the Head of Counseling Ann Odoy and Assistant Principal Lisa Peterson. These sessions focused on the important course scheduling process that will occur in the spring, equipping students and parents with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their academic paths.

With the successful welcome event, Masuk High School highlighted its dynamic educational environment for all students. The future Panthers have much to look forward to as they prepare to join the Masuk family.
