Masuk Robotics Kicks Off the Season with Determination and Team Spirit
The Masuk Robotics teams have launched into the new competition season with a series of exciting events that have already showcased their talent, teamwork, and resilience. From early successes to valuable lessons, our students are making strides in robotics and STEM excellence.
Hall Event Highlights
At the Hall Event, Masuk Robotics shined with two notable achievements:
-
Team 4478U earned the prestigious Excellence Award as the best overall robot of the competition, a testament to their engineering, design, and teamwork.
-
Team 4478S received the Sportsmanship Award for their outstanding team spirit and cooperation on and off the field.
This competition provided all our teams with a critical opportunity to test their robots, identify areas for improvement, and gain real-world competition experience. The event set the tone for the rest of the season, encouraging our students to strive for excellence.

St. Bernard Event: Challenges and Growth
The St. Bernard competition brought unique challenges that tested the adaptability of our teams:
-
The long bus ride and tight check-in schedule required quick thinking and seamless teamwork.
-
A smaller competition field of 37 teams resulted in shorter breaks between matches, creating obstacles for completing interviews and skills runs.
Despite these hurdles, Masuk Robotics persevered:
-
Team 4478B earned the Excellence Award for the best overall performance, demonstrating their ability to excel under pressure.
-
Team 4478Z was recognized with the Sportsmanship Award for their dedication to teamwork and positive attitude throughout the event.
The students walked away with valuable insights, proving that challenges are opportunities to learn and grow.

Daniel Hand Event: Stepping Out of Comfort Zones
The Daniel Hand Event was a true test of our teams’ resilience. With key members unavailable, students stepped into unfamiliar roles, learning to adapt and collaborate in new ways. While no awards were won this time, the experience proved invaluable as teams pushed through adversity and set a strong foundation for future events.
Looking Ahead
The beginning of the robotics season is always a mix of challenges, triumphs, and learning moments. Masuk Robotics teams have already demonstrated their ability to adapt, support one another, and rise to meet every challenge. With these experiences under their belts, our students are ready to build, innovate, and compete at even higher levels in the months ahead.
Please come join us at our Home event on December 14th in teh Masuk Auditorium. There will be over 70 teams from across Connecticut coming to compete.
Stay tuned as we continue to aim for success and growth in the exciting world of robotics!
